We do some of our best thinking in the shower. We don’t know if it’s the warm water or the quiet or the lack of multi-tasking but we always get the best ideas in there. We bet you do too!
We are so excited to have our friend Kelly from Restyling Home by Kelly with us today to share one of her favorite colors – blue! Her picks are beautiful; they most certainly speak for themselves! So take a peek at the lovely inspiration below and then go check her out at her online home! Thanks for sharing with us today, Kelly! It’s a treat to have you –
Why I’ve Got the Blues (And I Think You Should, Too)
I am so excited to be here today! Design Chic is one of my favorite blogs because Beth and Kristy always make everything fun and exciting!
Over at my blog, Restyling Home by Kelly, you will quickly notice I have a passion for using color in design. A passion especially for the color blue! I have always loved all blues, but dark navy blues make me happy and that is very evident in my own home. Blue is such a great neutral, and it works so well with other colors:
Navy blue is the perfect color in bringing other colors together as well as being a great color on it’s own:
I adore a blue and white room, don’t you? :
When it comes to interior design, we could live a variety of ways. We’ll admit that we like formal details every now and then, crystal chandeliers and fussy fabrics. But we’re also huge fans of casual spaces that feel welcoming–and like it would be okay if you accidentally spilled your spaghetti.
If you’ve followed us for a while, you know we are in complete awe of designers whose work really runs the gamut. Sure, picking a certain style and sticking with it has its charms, but we’re always amazed by those designers that can achieve a wide variety of looks for different homes–and homeowners.
Good morning, chic readers! We are so, so excited to have our friend Kelly from Talk of the House here today to share with us a bit about her favorite color: red! Kelly has long been one of our favorite bloggers, and if you don’t follow her gorgeous blog, you should! She, like us, is a big fan of fresh flowers, pressed linens and hot fudge sundaes. And, one glance at this gorgeous post she has created for us, and you’ll see that her taste is flawless. If she sounds like your kind of girl, make sure to check out Talk of the House.
I am so happy to be writing about my favorite color here today. Beth and Kristy are the epitome of classic taste, so I am thrilled to be here at Design Chic!
Even a brief glance at my blog, Talk of the House, will give you a quick clue to my favorite color. I have been a fan of red for as long as I can remember. It is the color of love and energy – both good things! (Not to mention its celebratory connections to Christmas, the 4th of July, and Valentine’s Day.) Two decades ago we had a large dose of red covering the walls of our dining room. After tiring of that, we went with the smaller impact of a red sofa in our living room. Today, my use of red has been toned down even more, but I still admire rooms that showcase it in a large quantity.
It looks great contrasted with gorgeous white trim.
