Monday Musings: Carolina Blue

Sandra Morgan Design
If you aren't from North Carolina, this may not mean much to you, but Saturday night was the Mount Everest of basketball games, the much-anticipated Tobacco Road rivalry of UNC vs. Duke. In our family, we bleed blue -- that lovely shade of Carolina blue, that is, not Duke blue. Ew.
Diamond Baratta Designs
As you might have guessed Carolina won. Handily. Otherwise, this post wouldn't be happening.
Lee Ann Thornton Design
Truth be told, Duke beat us at home in the last match up, and we had been so far ahead that, exhausted as I was, I turned the game off and went to sleep only to find that Duke had pulled it out with a buzzer shot. Annoying.
Sandra Morgan Interiors
As such, this time, I was a wreck even when we were up by twenty, because I knew our potential to fall apart. But we didn't. And we ended the season with a win against Duke, winner of the ACC season and a favorite for top seed come tournament time. Woo hoo!

Nathan Egan Interiors
I'll have to say, though, that I found myself feeling a little sad for the Duke players, losing on their court on senior night to their biggest rival.
Cathy Kincaid Interiors
This can only mean one thing: Motherhood has made me soft.
Suzanne Kasler Design
I actually remember sitting in the Dean Dome crying -- for like and hour -- after a loss to Duke in college. Trust me, I wasn't the only one shedding tears.

abode love

At any rate, we hope you enjoy these gorgeous images of what has to be our favorite color, for more reasons than one.

Have a wonderful Monday, friends!

Blue is my favorite color! My entire house is in blues. ( as are my blog and website :)).
I have cried over few losses to Duke ( and UNC) as well. I went to Maryland.

I planned your fame #22's 40th birthday in DC when he played / coached for Bulls.

Pretty pics!

I don't know much about the rivalry, but congratulations on the win! It's funny how you can get so wrapped up in a game that you cry about it. I know, I've done it before.

Mr. H is a Duke B-school alum, but I have to say I like your Carolina blue a lot better than a blue devil hue! So pretty. Glad that having a blue Monday is a wonderful thing in your neck of the woods!

Well, as a former Hoya, I guess I have to say Hurray (although my twin went to Duke which made watching basketball in our household very interesting!) Love Carolina blue and found the perfect shade for my front porch ceiling. That last image is Pin-worthy!

First off....Congratulations on that Carolina win!!! We were out to dinner and before we sat down, they were easily in the lead.

Love this shade of blue and had to smile at a couple of your images. The first, I knew I recognized. Sandra Morgan is just a doll and has the cutest shop just down the road. I've driven by lately and MUST stop in. She loves blue and white.

Also, the bedroom image was stunning. Then, I realized it was Cathy Kincaid...who does a lot of fabulous work in my hometown of Dallas.

Making connections all the time!!

Happy new week to you lovely friends,

I know zip, nada, niente about sports (except for Swedish hockey and soccer!). But reading your enthusiasm puts a good smile on my face!

I must say that the last room is pretty lovely. The colors and the textures make that wood paneled room scream current and chic.

Hugs to you both.

These pictures are so beautiful especially the last one! Congratulations, I am glad your team won!

When you mentioned Carolina blue, I totally get it! It was the first US state I set foot in, it's also the place where I got my degree, met my husband, got married and have a child. So, it means a lot to me. :)

Have a good day! Thanks for the pretty inspirations!
