Modern traditional has never looked as fabulous as through the design board of the multi-talented Elissa Cullman and company. Cullman founded the design firm Cullman and Kravis with her late design partner Hedi Kravis in 1984, and the team has been turning heads ever since. The firm's spot on the 2012 Architectural Digest 100 is no surprise once you've even glanced at these show-stopping rooms. It's easy to say that these designers' work is in good taste.
AD described Cullman's style as one in which "important antiques and art are complemented by snappy, fashion-forward colors and animating flashes of light from decorative mirrors." Looking at these rooms, we couldn't have said it better ourselves.
This room looks deep and rich without that dark feel that can be a bit of a downer. The color choices are perfection, but, it really can't be said enough: Great lighting takes a space to that next level.
Pink and gray is one of the dreamiest color combinations. And, as Cullman and Kravis expertly proves, it doesn't have to be girly.
A precisely made bed is the best focal point a room can have!
The touches of blue in this space add pizazz to the formal feel.
Pattern on pattern on pattern is tough to pull off... No surprise that they nailed it!
What a gorgeous place to curl up with a good book!
Everything in this room is drool worthy, but it's those pendants that really caught our eye.
These architectural details speak for themselves. We're feeling super inspired!
We hope you're all having a wonderful week!

The Kitchen, the hallway, the pink and gray…wow!! All so stunning! This is the prettiest home I've seen in a long, long time! It's perfect in every way! Beautiful and warm all at the same time! I got tickled about the pattern on pattern thing…my sweet mother in law always says when she comes over, "Oh honey, I never would have thought to mix all these patterns…somehow they work, though!" I'm never quite sure if it's a compliment or not! But I know she loves me so it doesn't matter! Loved this!!!
Love the pink and gray!! Great post! Thanks
OOh I love those hallway lights. Still trying to find some for my living areas G.x

We had a chance to see Elissa's own home during a house tour several years ago and each room was more swoon-worthy than the next! Very good taste, indeed...

Stunning rooms; I particularly love the pink and grey. If you don't already have it, their book 'Decorating Master Class' is a fantastic resource.
All best,
Phyllis
Beautiful work! I love the touches of turquoise too. So much detail in each room.

Their work is gorgeous......a friend of mines parents used them (when there were two of them) to decorate a second home and I can say that it was simply breathtaking, every single inch done to perfection. A very talented firm!
Gorgeous kitchen, and the floor in that hallway pic is to die for. Inspiration everywhere!
What a talented team......Their work is beautiful.
I do love that precisely made bed!
Gorgeous! I love the mostly-neutral palette with just the right pops of bright color. Our bedroom is next on the list for an update and that first photo gives me something to aspire to.
absolutely beautiful!!! Agree she deserves to be in AD's top 100...talented!!

What amazing work. So classic and yet inviting and liveable. My favorite room is the room with the bookshelves and slip covered sofa. The ceilings in so many of the rooms are spectacular.

That first bedroom is amazing. I could picture myself settling in for the night in that bed. Beautiful work!
The bedrooms are the best. I especially love the gray walls.
Life IS finally getting back to normal thank G-d! I love the glossy ceiling in the first photo and of course the room with the touches of pink. Once again you've posted magnificent rooms!
