Things We Love: Round Dining Tables

Benecki Fine Homes
King Arthur and those knights had the right idea.

Not only does a round table facilitate dinnertime (or breakfast or lunchtime...) conversation, it also looks fabulous in a dining room.

to more sophisticated fare, a round dining table is just right in any room.

We adore this beautiful, antique table. Paired with the casual shells it's a laid-back, yet very together look.

The base on this table is so unexpected and elegant. It adds a real wow factor to the room.

This is the ideal space for a round dining table. The windows flank it perfectly.

In a square room, nothing could look better than a round table. It's a perfect fit.

A round table is stunning in a charming breakfast room too. We wouldn't mind one of those cupcakes. Wonder if Arthur and the knights had cupcakes at their round table too...

The sweet and lovely Kendall Boggs is having a giveaway today that you must stop by and check out! We won one a while back (and have purchased a few more since...), and it was FABULOUS! Even if you aren't the big winner, make sure to take advantage of free shipping until December 15 on paintings 30x30 and smaller. It will save Santa a little Christmas cash!
Have a great afternoon, everyone!

All the examples of round dining tables are exquisite!! I love round tables and have one myself! And they do work great in square rooms...
Know the first example very well. It is from a previous home of Melanie Turner, and it was on a Veranda cover .....Melanie is the designer that I won the Blogging award for nominating her for Traditional Home's 2012 New Trads last year. Fun experience..and that it was!

Agree completely, I love dining at a round table, The place settings look so pretty and everyone enjoys them more, Also, the conversation is more intimate when everyone can see one another.

I love this post. Our minds are going in the same direction ... I am painting my kitchen floor, have bamboo blinds on order and am using a 6 foot round dining table. Have a great weekend!

I love the looks of round dining tables but always wondered about seating a smaller number of guests at a dinner, would it be too large to intimate for say, a party of 4? These are great examples in any event. :-)

If my dinning room was large enough for a round table I would have one... its intimate and guest are all included in a conversation..

Such pretty tables! I've always loved a big round table but have never had a space large enough to use one. Maybe in my next home... :)

Yes, round tables do work so well for dinner parties, allowing you as the host to intervene if a guest is struggling, and everyone to join in the conversation. We've had one for over 27 years, and now I find the rectangular ones quite confining, as in if you're stuck with a pair of duds on either side, you're stuck!

I love a round table - so convivial. I have a long rectangular dining room so it wouldn't work for me but dreaming of a square dining room with a fireplace - that would be so lovely, especially at the holidays!

I love the concept. I love the look and most of all love how inviting and inclusive a round table can be when entertaining. So much so that I am designing our current dining room to accomodate an extendable round table and a fireplace for those cold wintery evenings.
Great post!
