Friday Favorite: Gray and Brass

Studio Isle Design
It may not be the first duo that comes to mind, but gray and brass is a color combination that we're loving lately.
Courtney Giles Interiors
Warmer than silver, and more subdued than gold, the right brass can add that metallic element to a room without feeling too flashy or overdone.
Warmington and North
As soon as the Beaufort house is done, Will and I are tackling a long-overdue remodel of our bedroom and bath. We haven't had quite enough of paint samples and fabric swatches yet...
Munger Interiors
It was next on our "to-do" list when I got pregnant, and, as I'm overboard paranoid about fumes, dust (especially in an old house!), etc., we decided to put it off until Will was a little older -- and we could escape to the beach for a couple of weeks until the dust cleared and the paint cured.
Hinkley Lighting
We've definitely decided on gray as the main color for both rooms, but the big point of contention is whether we want to change the brass shower door -- and the bevy of body sprays, which, by the way, we never, ever use!
CocoCozy
We were all set to switch them for stainless, but seeing these fabulous rooms might just give us a change of heart!
pinterest
We don't want to feel married to a metallic, so it's nice to see in these rooms how people have mixed brass and stainless.
Kristen Panitch
Of course, when you find that amazing, "just-right" brass, there's really no need to mix... We were also trying to find a clever way to get more light into our closets. This is fabulous!
Kelly Wearslter
What a gorgeous place to get a little work done.
AyA Kitchens and Bath
Another stainless and brass combo that looks good enough to eat! Do we think it would work in a bathroom?
Haute Design
This is really unbelievably fabulous. If this was our closet, we don't think we'd ever leave!
Kelly Wearstler Design
Gray and brass has never looked so good...
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! Thanks for visiting us today!

I love it! It's like you go in my brain, find something I love and then do an awesome roundup of images just for me ;)

Love it! I actually have really started loving brass a lot lately, preferably a slightly aged brass. Beautiful rich combination with the grays!
Hope you have a great weekend.

I'll never admit publicly that I love gray and brass but I do.

How did you get the "pin it" buttons next to the images?

Good Morning! I love brass and have incorporated it into this, our new home. I also chose bronze/brass accessories for my new office redecorating. I felt like gold was too bright and obvious, so I went with bronze and brass to tone things down...because I need to with that paint colour I have! Beautiful pics and am loving your cottage progress. Great stuff!!!

Gray and brass = gorgeous!! I haven't used brass lately, but really loving it here. I do love using antique gilded mirrors and chandeliers in gray rooms....they are not too different from brass. Have a great weekend, Loi

I did aged brass light fixtures in my pale grey bedroom - it's not as dramatic looking as some of these - but I love it. You've got a fabulous collection of inspiration here - off to 'pin' some now!

How beautiful a gray room will be done in my house and the brass look gives it such a rich touch.

I'm just thrilled that I've held on to every antique piece of brass that my mother in law ever gave me! Even those that have just recently become antiques! And I love mixing the metals…but I really love the brass with the gray paint! I mix everything….fabrics, woods, metals…it just seems to work..and maybe I've just gotten used to it after seeing so much of it together in my shop…but people seem to like it. This post was wonderful and I am pinning these pics for sure! Have a great weekend!

The gray paint is kinda the poor mans stainless, or nickel or brushed chrome. I like it!

Kitchens have mixed metals on a few of those very fancy "foreign" stoves. I like those too!

Fashion has been mixing metals in gobs (bracelets and necklaces) for a season or two. I like it so much! (I've done it for a decade or so in a small way... gold band next to platinum & diamonds on my wedding finger.)

Your collection of photos are each so inspiring - looking forward to your "after" shots of your bathroom.

Cheers!

Beautiful inspiration. I love brass.... it has such a warm quality and lends more of an "acquired" look to a space.
