House Tour: Blue Crush

cottage

You know we love a cedar shake cottage. And when that cedar shake cottage is designed by our friend and one of our favorites, Andrew Howard, all the better!

living-room

We just love how Howard combines patterns and textures, furnishings and accessories in a way that is super chic but also family friendly and oh-so livable.

flower

Classic seaside decor like natural fibers and woods combine with modern touches like that fabulous light fixture to create a space that feels traditional but also very now.

abstract-art

This is one of our favorite light fixtures right now. And a piece of abstract art makes a room feel instantly youthful.

wood

Howard is a big fan of a dark, cozy room in a home. And, looking at this one, it’s easy to see why. We can see curling up in this wood paneled beauty all winter long.

wallpapers

Bright, vibrant wallpapers are perfect for defining a space. We love that this house is just as beautiful for the youngest members of the family as the oldest ones!

kitchen

A soothing and serene kitchen gets a burst of whimsical personality from this fun yellow fabric.

dining

There’s no better place than a banquette for family dining — with tons of patterned pillows of course!

paint

Collecting all those stray things that inevitably come through the door doesn’t have to be a chore. A fun paint color makes everyone want to put their trinkets away!

paint

Bright and beautiful! Any girl would love coming home to this room!

bathroom

A clean, simple bathroom gets a whimsical punch from a bold, patterned floor.

bedroom

A bold pattern on the walls pairs nicely with softer solids around the room.

bathroom

 Another amazing floor!

bedroom

A deeper color creates a soothing master bedroom retreat.

wallpapers

And dramatic colors make this closet one of the most amazing rooms in the house!

bathroom

“Timeless” isn’t a word that Howard is fond of (as you’ll read in our article about him on Domino today!) but this bathroom is probably as close as you can get!

porches

Porches and patios are almost always the best rooms in the house. And, with this lush view, we’d want to be on this porch all the time. We can’t wait to tell you all about the Dear Carolina launch party.  It was amazing!!  And a huge thank you to all of you who mentioned the book on your blog or social media and for those who have bought it – I am so grateful…

Thanks so much for stopping by our house tour today! We love getting to spend a little bit of the day with you!
