Things We Love: Barrel Ceilings

Lee Ledbetter Architect
Nothing adds drama and glamour to a room like an extraordinarily tall ceiling.

Michael Graves Architect
Whether it's vaulted, straight, or, our personal favorite, barrel, a distinctive ceiling adds an entire new level of allure to any room.

McKee Patterson Architect
This kitchen is filled with unique, beautiful features that set it apart. Aren't the oven and vent incredible?

S.R. Gambrel
Love these light fixtures and the runner. Great color.

SLC Interiors
This oversized bathtub is the perfect place to lounge.
Country Living
And the use of a barrel ceiling is so incredible in a smaller bathroom like this, with less room for the details that can really set it apart.
Werner Straube Photography
We love the idea of painting the ceiling a different color, and this gold is simply divine!

Phillip Mitchell Design
The detail of this ceiling really makes the passageway pop!
Herlong Architects
What a beautiful way to be welcomed to a space. All it takes is a little imagination--and one very talented architect!
Thanks for stopping by today. Still waiting for baby Will to make his arrival... Six days late and counting!

Beautiful images. Barrel ceilings add such architectural detail and glamour to a space, especially in a hallway. I know you are anxious to meet the baby, but apparently he is not ready to greet the world yet. And when he is, we want pictures, lots of pictures.

I have loved that Country Living bathroom for ages, and you are right, it is the ceiling that makes it!!

BTW, happy to hear that you don't think the "collected look" is passé. Especially since my home is definitely in that category! :-)
